About The Big League

The Big League is a fictional baseball league inside the Out of the Park universe, founded in April 2023. Each season runs five weeks in real life.

League History

The league’s own record book goes back further than its real-world founding — the in-game history starts in 2001. It launched with 28 GMs and grew into the 32-team league it is today. Over that span, 109 different people have run a TBL team, and 19 of them have gone on to actually win a championship.

“Yes. It’s truly a championship for everyone.” — Jay, Denver Dynamite · On the pieces he acquired to win his sixth championship.

Every champion since 2001 is listed on the Playoffs page, and the full GM lineage for all 32 franchises is in the record book.

Who Covers The League

TBL News Network recaps are written by Dana Whitcomb, who covers the league the way a national baseball writer covers a real one: contract structures, roster mechanics, what a club is actually trying to do and whether it is working. No gimmick, no running character, never the story.

Underneath her, every club has its own writer. Thirty-two beat reporters, one for each city, each with a local outlet and a long memory of the franchise they cover. They are allowed to disagree with the national desk.

Every issue closes with The Notebook — short items on the clubs the main piece didn’t get to, which over a season means nobody goes unmentioned for long. A recap goes out after each sim on the News page.

Staying Connected

Slack is where the league actually runs — sim updates, commissioner announcements, trade talk, all of it. The postseason and the preseason show are called live on the broadcast feed. For live standings, stats, and contracts, StatsPlus is the source of truth, updated straight from the save after every sim.

Just joining? The new GM guide covers the first week: Slack setup, StatsPlus, exports, sim times, and where to post what.
